Most of the band's venues were the many area festivals and shows, notably
many appearances on the Red River Revel, Natchitoches Folk Festival, warm
up acts for Asleep at the Wheel, Tennessee Gentlemen, Country Gazette and
others. COUNTY SWITCH was also blessed to find themselves on many radio
shows. They were nominated several times for band of the year at the La.
Hayride and performed several times on the La. Folk Music Public
Broadcasting show. COUNTY SWITCH has been best known for progressive,
unique up-tempo styles, sprinkled with a dash of good old fashioned mountain
fiddle tunes along with original written material. A fan recently told them “Y’
all put a little Salt and Pepper in your music – don’t ya”.
COUNTY SWITCH offers a double C.D. set online and at their shows. Some
samples of these songs can be found on YOUTUBE.
After a ten year absence, COUNTY
SWITCH is back together and
working hard to recapture that
original style and energy with
maybe just a touch of finesse that
comes with a little age and wisdom.
Original members are William
Norton, Ron Cosby, John Peck and
Gary Buchanan. Between these
four members, skills on
approximately nine instruments are
offered which alternate frequently
on stage with a bit of a comic style.
